My Bucket List: Crossed, Crossing, and to Cross Off

Crossed off the Rachel Carson Trail Challenge, hiking 34 miles in one day

In no particular order, I present to you my bucket list!

Bucket List Items to Cross Off:
  1. Travel to as many countries as my age (19 down)
  2. See Ireland and Scotland on bike
  3. Drop down in a cage in the ocean and chum for sharks
  4. Hang glide
  5. Visit all countries in Central and South America
  6. Learn calligraphy
  7. Learn to play the drums
  8. Become a black belt
  9. Become a Mom
  10. Hike in Patagonia
  11. Hike in Nepal
  12. Hike in New Zealand
  13. Scuba dive in the Philippines
  14. Scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef
  15. Scuba dive in Thailand
  16. Scuba dive at night with manta rays in Hawaii
  17. Rock climb by Angel Falls in Venezuela
  18. Take a helicopter ride over Denali National Park
  19. Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro
  20. White water raft on the Colorado river
  21. Bike to California
  22. Catch lobsters in Maine
  23. Own a house in South America
  24. Meet the pope
  25. Travel to all 50 states
  26. Travel to all 7 continents (5/7 down)
  27. Ski out west for a month
  28. Work at a bookstore
  29. Own two pugs
  30. Ski in the French Alps
  31. Ski in the Pyrenees
  32. Visit Petra
  33. Plant a (productive) vegetable garden
  34. Own a bed and breakfast

Bucket List Items I Am in the Process of Crossing Off:

  1. Become fluent in American Sign Language
  2. Become fluent in Spanish
  3. Read all books written by Paulo Coelho
  4. Become a licensed Washington D.C. tour guide
  5. Maintain a travel blog
  6. Travel with students

Bucket List Items I Have Crossed Off:

  1. Own a house
  2. Skydive
  3. Become a certified open water scuba diver
  4. Marry the man of my dreams
  5. Run marathons
  6. Compete in triathlons
  7. Complete the LIVESTRONG challenge (100 mi bike ride)
  8. Complete a half ironman (1.2 mi swim, 56 mi bike, 13.1 mi run)
  9. Learn to sail
  10. Work at a veterinarian clinic
  11. Conduct field research in the tropical rainforest
  12. Hold a red-eyed tree frog
  13. Get published
  14. Bike from Kitty Hawk to Ocracoke and back
  15. Complete the Rachel Carson Challenge
  16. Bike through Sonoma and go wine tasting
  17. See the birthplace of Christ
  18. See the pyramids of Giza
  19. Indulge in chocolate, cheese, and wine in France
  20. Take a west coast road trip
  21. Hike in the Great Smokey Mountains
  22. Ski in the Swiss Alps
  23. Ski in the German Alps
  24. Ski in British Columbia
  25. Learn to water ski
  26. Learn to wake board
  27. Become a ski instructor

    • Thanks Annette! It was one of the most physically demanding activities I have done! It wasn’t so much the distance as the steepness of the hills that really drained the energy. I have never been so sore! Thank you for reading!
